I've made many long trips (1000 plus miles) and am currently on a multi month cross country trek driving my Mazda SUV. We've run into problems at a lot of th...Nice post. We've run into problems at a lot of the WalMarts these days - especially on the West Coast (Oregon/California). They have signs posted that specifically forbid overnight camping of any kind. I suspect it has something to do with the taxes that campgrounds, hotels and other "hospitality" places have to pay, but then what the heck do I know... We are currently full-timing it in a 28 foot trailer (4 people and a dog). We tried converting a bus, but found out that it's not all that great not fitting in.
